Brian Keith Shrewsbury Get Up and Move – Choose Life, Joy, and Forward Motion TodayAre you dancing this morning? Have you turned on your favorite music with a real beat yet? If not, get up right now and do it. Turn that music on and see what happens. You’ll instantly feel better. Sit up on the side of the bed, plant your feet on the floor, and let your body start moving. Tune into your Spotify free account and put on some 80s music — or whatever era brings back those memories of when your body felt strong, alive, and unstoppable. If it’s not 80s, I forgive you. Just play what lights you up. No matter what’s weighing on you right now, interrupt it. If your mind is stuck in something negative, tell yourself, “I’ll come back to that drama later.” You’ll fool your brain into realizing it can set the battle aside for a minute. Next thing you know, that problem starts to lose its grip. You’ll even wonder why you were so worked up about it in the first place. Dump all the stress from this week. Let go of the bad decisions, the things you thought would make you feel better but didn’t, and every lie that whispered your life isn’t going anywhere. Because it is moving — with or without your full approval. You’re on a timeline. You can’t step off it. Life keeps marching forward. So make the decision today to put into your life what you truly want. You do have the power. I know, I know — you’re thinking, “If I don’t worry about all this, the world’s going to fall apart.” We all feel that way sometimes. But remember: about 175,000 people die every single day worldwide, and the planet keeps spinning. The sun still rises. The birds keep singing. And the bill collectors keep sending notices to people who are no longer here to pay them. (Gotcha, bill collectors — I left before you could get it all!) My daily advice to myself is simple: Do something incredible today. It doesn’t have to be big. Just something that feels meaningful to you. In my life, that might mean building something, creating something, writing something, calling someone I love, or just dancing in my room until I feel alive again. I don’t need to climb Mount Everest to feel purpose. I can feel incredible sitting in a pile of ducks, hand-feeding them… or hanging out with my cows… or best of all, spending time with my grandkids and seeing my own children in their eyes and smiles. Today is a good day to rest, reflect, and plan. Look around at what you already have. See where you are, where you want to go, and what you want to make happen next — whether that’s tonight, tomorrow, or next week. I hope you have a deeply blessed day. Let the Spirit of the Lord flow through you. Get your engine running and your mind pointed in the right direction. If it drifts, don’t let it stay there long. Get up and get moving however you can. No quitters on this watch.
Uplifting Bible Verse
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” — Nehemiah 8:10
A Parable About Life
A farmer had two sons. To one he gave five bags of seed, to the other three. The son with five bags complained it was too much work and left most of it in the barn. The son with three bags planted every seed with care, watered it daily, and trusted the rain and sun. At harvest time, the first son had almost nothing, while the second had overflowing barns and enough to share. The father said, “It is not how much you are given, but what you do with what you have that determines the abundance of your life.”
